Van Avery Prep offers a wide variety of extracurricular clubs and activities to enrich the school experience and to meet the talents and interests of our students. All students are encouraged to participate to develop leadership skills, collaborate, and share ideas. Teachers/coaches direct these sessions to ensure that the students are given an opportunity to develop their skills, nurture their talents, learn to work together as a team, and grow socially confident. VAP boasts an array of clubs that feed our students’ passions and give them additional opportunities to learn more about subjects of interest.
The clubs conveniently meet on our campus and are led by VAP teachers and staff or dedicated parent volunteers.
Some of the clubs offered include:
American Girl Club
Cheer
Chess
Debate
Drama
Flag Football (K–5)
Science Olympiad
STEM Club
Young Lego Engineers
If an interest is not represented, students may start a club of their own with sufficient student interests and a faculty advisor.
Homework Club
Homework Club is included in Extended Day. All students will have a snack break after the school day concludes. If they finish their homework early, they may read silently. After Homework Club, they may play outside or in the gymnasium until their pick-up time.
Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade return to their classroom and are provided time to complete their homework with their teacher as a resource, if needed. Middle School students are assigned to a grade-level language arts, math, or multi-disciplinary classroom to work on their homework with the support of their teacher.
